![]() ![]() ![]() People that say he doesn’t rap about anything have not heard all of his albums. Rap, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, Biggie, Pusha T, Big L, Big Pun, Mase, Cam’ron, Twista and Snoop. He comes from the same class of rap or “street rap” such as Kool G. At that time in 96-97, there were a lot of MCs that wasn’t doing that. He takes 2 to 3 words and they’ll mean the same thing. Jay Z has a double-triple entendre style, which means double or triple meaning. I think people don’t like him because he has a “bad” voice but what he’s saying and how he rhyme is dope. I disagree what you’re saying because Jay is a great rapper. and then there was X, Grand Champ, the great depression) but it is just me. Now thinking of it, if I was asked from a website to put on a top 100 or something, I would definitely place Jay-z 5th, with the longevity he has and it is not like his songs are really really bad either but for my personal list, I would place DMX, energy he had can be only matched by 2pac and I think he had very good albums( It's dark and hell is hot. Yes they have that advantage but I think that advantage is just well deserved. When it comes to 2pac and biggie, if it wasn't for their rap careers, they probably wouldn't die. I might be biased though since I was introduced into the genre with him and it was a bit hard to get into Jay-z after Eminem. I just think that it is hard to stay mainstream with the style Em making and I feel like I gotta give man credit for that. I just think that being still number 28 in the world( according to spotify) just shows that Em beats Jay-z when it comes to longevity and there are really few artists if any can do that. Sounds and contents were pretty different and with first 3 albums, bar was very high too. I understand that you don't really dig Em's job after TES.
